Complete dentures replace all of the teeth in either the upper or lower part of the mouth. Partial dentures can replace several teeth, but not all of the teeth in an arch.

Partial dentures attach with clasps to the remaining teeth. These clasps may be made of metal or tooth- or tissue-colored plastic.
